Requirement
Seoul Metropolitan Railway Transit Corporation needed a testing system to test various springs used in its electric trains. The springs differed in size from 3 mm to 100 mm in diameter and required a sophisticated testing solution to be installed.
Solution
In response to this need, Presto supplied a total testing system with a twin-column, high-capacity test frame and control software. It was equipped with several smart loadcells and sets of compression plates to support various spring sizes and shapes..
The setup applies a varying compressive load to the springs, with a pass/fail load of at least 300 N. Its versatility enables the testing of different spring types with the same procedure for consistency and efficiency..
