Requirement

British Gaskets is a producer of many types of gaskets, sealing products, and moldings using materials such as neoprene, Viton, EPDM, and silicone. The company required a well-developed test system that could measure tensile strength and elongation of different types of rubber and polymers precisely, and at the same time, maintain the quality of the materials to be used in various applications.

Solution

The MultiTest 10-i (now replaced by OmniTest with VectorPro) provides fully automated control over all test parameters. The output of the test results is in the form of graphs, which clearly indicate the point of material failure each time a test is conducted. Through this system, British Gaskets was able to operate without depending on the outsourced testing and yet controlled its quality accurately.

Universal Testing Machine The twin column provides enough load capacity to facilitate all the expected material strengths, and high-strain specimens are accommodated through the huge test area. The VectorPro software enables the storing of a library of test routines, which are recalled and executed by authorized staff, which guarantees consistency and repeatability of various batches.
